Friday Nov 2 (I think) - Last night it rained. The air smelled so clean and refreshing. Anh and I got up at 03:00 and went out on the patio to enjoy it. There was also an electrical storm and we were without power. At night all the ships are visible for miles at sea due to their lights. You wouldn't know many of them were there but for the lights at night.
We found about 6 puppies being raised in the same pen with the chickens and the geese. You can imagine how they might smell. Well we named one of them Miss Stinky. I think that is something like 'Co Hoi' in Vietnamese. She has since been cleaned up and came out to sit with us during the rain. She is sweet and sticks close to the house. It is not the ideal environment for the puppies as the goose likes to bite.
At 05:00 this morning we boarded a van and came to Saigon. In classic Vietnamese mode, they were not prepared for the four of us (even though they had been told what to expect) and the driver was rude. Always creates a great mood... The guy's driving was truly scary and he didn't seem to mind inflicting his cigarette smoke on the rest of us. I read a couple chapters in my BOLD reading list. Then took a nap. It's better if you don't look at the traffic. The whole trip takes about four hours.
Richelle took us to see her hotel room. Then Anh and I found a couple rooms nearby for us and her friend Max and his wife Yoli. They arrived from the Phillipines around 14:30. While Ahn was picking them up at the airport, Richelle and I enjoyed a couple cold drinks (Coke for her & Mango Smoothie for me) on the roof of the Tax Building. It over looks the statue of Uncle Ho and the roundabout in the center of town. From there we all went to dinner and back to the hotel.
Tomorrow I think we are headed South to see one of Anh's aunts. Max and Yolli are going to see Vung Tao. Richelle has class work to do.

I don't know why but when I was in the Philippines I could not stop drinking Coke. The weird thing is I never drink it here in the states! Hehehe
